I’m Deon. The woman who swore to her dear friend that I had NO TIME FOR BLOGGING! This space – blog.missionintentional.com – is where I chronicle my attempts at being deliberate, thoughtful, and purposeful in my life. Which is why it’s a bit patchy. I only have so much time to blog when I am trying to be in the moment with my family.
My strong desire to help my children discover their life’s missions coupled with my determination to plant a love of liberty and the gospel in their hearts and minds has led me to document what I am doing in this little space. They grow so quickly and the older they get, the faster it flies. I want to be intentional in all I am doing with them in these precious years. For me, personally, I find it is easy to be distracted by a million things. Some are really fun, some are good, some are complete twaddle. So, here begins mission intentional. It’s all on purpose and hopefully with purpose.
Here’s a little bit about me: I’m wife to my brilliant best friend, mother of five amazing young people. Graduate of Willamette University, I teach my children at home, in the car, in the garden, on the trail, in the museum, and wherever we happen to be conducting school. I’m a master’s student at George Wythe University.
I believe wholeheartedly that when we are making a difference at home, we are making a difference in the world. I am striving to be present in each moment I spend with those I love.
